Waterford Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman in Passage East in Co Waterford.

The body of the woman, who was in her 60s, was found in her home on the Brookside in the Co Waterford village.

The discovery was made on Monday, November 10th, when gardaí were called to the house after locals alerted them that the woman hadn't been seen for a while.

As the Irish Examiner reports, her body was found in the bathroom area of the house. Gardaí say foul play is not suspected at this time.

It is not known how many days the woman may have been dead in the house. The body of her dog, with whom she lived, was also found dead in the house.

The Waterford Coroner was notified, and her body has since been removed to University Hospital Waterford, where a post-mortem examination is due to take place this week.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
