A man and a woman are in hospital with injuries following a two-vehicle collision in Easkey, Co Sligo collision on Sunday.

The collision happened at Kileenduff at 10:15 pm.

Both drivers, a woman and a man in their 40s, were taken to Sligo University Hospital, where the woman’s condition is described as critical and the man is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The road is currently closed for a technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators, and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the R297 at Kileenduff, Easkey, between 9:45 pm and 10.30 pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
