A man in his 40s is in hospital after an explosion in a house in Tralee, Co. Kerry on Wednesday.

Gardaí assisted emergency services at the incident at 5 pm.

A man in his 40s was conveyed to University Hospital Kerry with serious injuries.

A technical examination of the scene is ongoing, but at this time is not being treated as suspicious.
