Man (40s) to appear in court in relation to seizure of drugs worth €3.2m

The man in his 40s, who was arrested in connection with a seizure of drugs worth €3.2 million, is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice at 10:30am on Thursday. 

Gardaí attached to the Crumlin Drugs Unit stopped a vehicle in the Dolphin’s Barn area of Dublin 8 on Tuesday.

The driver, a man in his 40s, and the vehicle were conveyed to a Garda station in the DMR South for a search under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

In the course of a search of the vehicle, Gardaí discovered approximately 44kg of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of €3 million

A follow-up search was conducted at a residence in Tallaght, Dublin 24, and a further 10kg of suspected cannabis, with an estimated value of €200,000, was seized by gardaí.

The seized drugs are subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.
