A man who died following a road collision in Co Carlow on Saturday has been named.

Jimmy Nolan, who was in his 40s, from Tinnecarrig, Borris, Co Carlow died when he was struck by a car on the R703 in Ballyroughan Big, Borris at 4.30pm.

Mr Nolan was pronounced dead at the scene.The driver of the car, a woman aged in her 60s, was uninjured.

His funeral details on rip.ie describe how Mr Nolan will be “sadly missed” by his heartbroken parents Andy and Christina, brother David, sisters Mary, Elaine and Mairead, aunts Esther, Eileen, Mary and Christina, nephews, nieces, in-laws, relatives and friends.

Mr Nolan will lie in repose in Joyce’s funeral home, Borris, Co Carlow from 4pm to 9pm today and he will be laid to rest tomorrow (Wednesday) following midday requiem mass in St Patrick's Church, Ballymurphy.
