Crowds gathered in inner city Dublin for the Macnas Halloween Parade.

The streets were lined with people as musicians played drums and other instruments, leading participants carrying flaming lanterns and spectacular large-scale animal and character puppets from mythology.

This year’s Macnas Parade, themed as The Summoning of The Lost, came as part of the Dublin City Council’s Bram Stoker Festival, rounding off a weekend of events for Halloween.

Lord Mayor of Dublin Ray McAdam described excitement on the street as the parade got underway.
