A former Donegal school teacher is due to be sentenced for a raft of historical sex offences.

The man, who is in his 80s and appeared at Letterkenny Circuit Court, faces 132 charges.

The man, who cannot be named at this juncture, is charged with offences of sexual assault and indecent assault related to incidents in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s in Co Donegal.

All of the incidents took place in Donegal, and there are 19 victims in the case.

Some of the complainants were present in Letterkenny courthouse for the brief hearing.

The man spoke only to affirm guilty pleas previously indicated at Letterkenny District Court.

A publication order, meaning that the accused man cannot be named to protect the anonymity of the victims, continues to be in place.

The defendant was represented by Mr Eugene Grant SC, with Ms Maddie Grant BL, instructed by solicitor Mr Patsy Gallagher.

Mr Grant told Judge John Aylmer that there were no reports required in the matter.

Judge Aylmer adjourned the case until November 13th, and the accused man was remanded on continuing bail.
