A man in his 30s has been stabbed following an argument at a house in the Greenmount area of Cork city.

The man sustained stab injuries following a dispute at a house off Noonan's Road yesterday evening (Monday) at around 11.40pm.

Paramedics and gardaí attended the scene after the alarm was raised following an incident at a property.

The injured man was taken to Cork University Hospital (CUH) for treatment of suspected stab wounds.

His injuries are not understood to be life threatening in nature.

Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the stabbing incident.

They will speak to the injured man once he is deemed medically fit to be interviewed. Investigations are ongoing.
