A motorcyclist has died following a crash also involving a car in Co Wicklow.

The crash happened on the R117 near Enniskerry at approximately 7:40am on Wednesday.

The driver of the motorcycle, a man aged in his 30s, was taken to St Vincent’s University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

However, he was subsequently pronounced dead, and the coroner has been notified.

No other injuries were reported at the time.

The scene was subject to technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators, but the road has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
