Young man who died in Co Tyrone collision named as Thomas Lagan

A man who died in a Co Tyrone road crash has been named locally as Thomas Lagan.

The collision took place on the Pomeroy Road in Cookstown at around 6.45 am on Friday.

Mr Lagan, 21, from the Cookstown area, was the driver of a grey Volkswagen Bora involved in a crash with a grey Seat Leon.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman was also taken to hospital.

Officers are continuing to investigate the collision.

Inspector Cherith Adair of the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s collision investigation unit said: “Our inquiries are continuing, and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have digital footage which could assist with our investigation, to contact the collision investigation unit on 101, quoting reference number 235 of 10/10/25.”
