A man has been arrested following an armed robbery of a retail premises in Clongriffin, Dublin, on Friday.

Shortly after 9.30 pm, gardaí responded to a report of a man having entered a business brandishing a knife, threatening staff and demanding money from the till.

No injuries were reported.

A man (20s) was arrested near the scene, and a knife was recovered.

He was detained at a Garda Station in Dublin under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

He has since been charged and is due to appear before a sitting of Dublin District Court (Court No. 2) at the Criminal Courts of Justice on Saturday morning.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
