Motorcyclist dies in early morning collision in Co Galway

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal single-vehicle road traffic collision in Co Galway this morning.

The incident involving a motorcyclist occurred on the N65 at Kilcooley, Loughrea, at around 6:25am.

The motorcyclist, a male in his 60s, was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Galway, where he subsequently passed away.

The N65 at Kilcooley is closed road pending a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact Loughrea Garda Station on 091 842870, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
