A man's body was discovered in Enniscrone, Co Sligo, on Monday night.

At around 11.10pm on Monday, gardaí and emergency services were alerted after a man in his 80s was found unresponsive on the road at Church Lane. He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Gardaí have said they are investigating all circumstances surrounding the discovery.

The Coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course. The results of the post-mortem will determine the course of the garda investigation.

Gardaí have appealed for anyone with information to come forward, including any road users who were in the area of Church Lane, Enniscrone, between 10pm and 11.15pm on October 6th 2025.

Anyone who may have camera footage, including dash cam, and was travelling in the area at the time has been asked to make it available to gardaí.
