A man's body has been discovered in Agher, Co Meath.

Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances around the discovery of the man's body shortly before 10am on Friday morning.

The body has since been removed to the mortuary at Our Lady's Hospital in Navan, where a post-mortem examination is due to take place.

The outcome of the post-mortem is to determine the course of the investigation, gardaí said.

The local coroner has been notified, and a technical examination of the scene is ongoing.
