According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO), 484 people were waiting for beds in hospitals across the country on Tuesday

310 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 174 are in wards elsewhere in hospitals.

The hospital with the highest number of patients without a bed is University Hospital Limerick, with 133 people on trolleys.

58 people are in the emergency department, while there are 75 people without a bed elsehwere in the hospital.

At Letterkenny University Hospital, 40 people are on trolleys, with 16 people in the emergency department.

Cork University Hospital has 32 people without a bed, with all patients in the emergency department.
