A man in his 60s has died following a crash in West Cork.

It is the fourth death on Cork roads since Thursday.

The single-vehicle collision happened in the Corran Middle area on the road between Leap and Drinagh.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene, and the road is closed for a technical exam, with local diversions in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or drivers with dash camera footage of the area between 10:30 and 11:30am to contact them.

On Thursday, a woman in her 20s died following a collision between a truck and her bicycle in Cork city.

On the same day, a man in his 40s died following an incident with a truck in Ballycotton, while on Saturday night, a pedestrian in his 40s was killed after being hit by a car on the M8 motorway at Mitchelstown.
