The Army Bomb Squad are dealing with a situation near Leinster House in Dublin city centre this evening.

Merrion Square North is closed to traffic and pedestrians, leading to delays in the area.

A cordon has been put in place around the area.

In a statement, gardaí said: "Gardaí were alerted to a suspicious package at a premises on Merrion Square, Dublin 2 earlier this afternoon, Tuesday, 16th September 2025.

"A cordon has been put in place around the area and the services of the army EOD team requested."

Gardaí said no further information is available at this time.
