A cyclist has died after a road crash in Co Carlow.

Gardaí have appealed for information about the collision with a car, which occurred on the N80 in Kilmeany at 11pm on Friday.

A man in his 20s died at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

The road was closed between the Tinryland junction and the M9 for examination.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.
