Gardaí have arrested two men as part of an ongoing investigation into money laundering and human trafficking.

The men were arrested by gardaí from the Donegal Division.

The pair, aged in their 40s and 50s, were detained earlier on Friday.

The suspects were arrested following operations in counties Louth and Roscommon, part of an ongoing probe into organised crime.

They are currently being held at stations in the Garda North Western Region under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

Gardaí said their investigations were ongoing.
