The lineup for this year's Galway Comedy Festival has been announced, with Emma Doran, Rhod Gilbert, and Deirdre O'Kane set to lead the laughs.

The festival will run from Tuesday, October 21st, until Monday, October 27th.

There is a 70-strong lineup consisting of a mix of Irish and international stars, with both emerging talent and comedy legends featuring across the seven days and nights.

The comedians will perform in 16 venues across Galway city and county, but the centre of activity will be Pálás Cinema.

Meanwhile, the Róisín Dubh will be the location for an array of solo shows and mixed bills from Rich Hall, Rachel Galvo, Paddy McDonnell, and The Improv All Stars.

Tickets will go on sale at 10am on Tuesday, September 16th.

Other comedians making the trip to Galway for the festival include: Dylan Moran, Paul Smith, Jack Dee, Omid Djalili, Phill Jupitus, Chris McCausland, and Aoife Dunne.

Festival director, Kevin Healy, said: "As part of our festival, we plan to turn Pálás Cinema into one of the finest comedy venues in Ireland.

"We are very excited and grateful that Galway City Council are giving us a chance to breathe new life into the space. We're there for a good time, not a long time."
