Gogglebox Ireland will return to screens on Wednesday night with a star-studded lineup which includes Marty Whelan, comedian Pat Shortt, and the cast from the hit podcast I'm Grand Mam.

Wednesday night will mark the launch of the show's 11th season with a bumper celebrity special.

Marty Whelan and Mary Kennedy, two of Ireland’s most iconic TV presenters, reunite to bring their wit and decades of broadcasting experience to the show.

PJ Kirby and Kevin Twomey from the hit podcast I’m Grand Mam are joined by PJ’s mother, Nuala.

Producers said to expect some "true Corkonian banter and some of the most hilarious mother-son dynamics ever seen on Gogglebox".

Comedian Jason Byrne and football star Jason McAteer will join forces on the Gogglebox couch, and Ireland AM’s Muireann O’Connell and Elaine Crowley are joined by Eric Roberts.

Irish rugby legends and former teammates Tommy Bowe and Andrew Trimble swap the pitch for the sofa together.

Other celebrities joining the star-studded line-up include:

  • The Group Chat’s Gavan Reilly, Zara King, and Richard Chambers;
  • Louis Walsh and Dave Fanning;
  • Rosie O’Donnell;
  • Garron Noone;
  • Pat Shortt;
  • Ray D’Arcy, Dustin the Turkey, and Zig and Zag.

For the very first time ever, Gogglebox narrator Deirdre O’Kane will step out from behind the mic and onto the couch joining comedian Emma Doran, with a surprise guest celebrity replacing her as voice over for the episode.

Season 11 of Gogglebox Ireland will hit screens on Wednesday, September 10th, at 9pm on Virgin Media Play and Virgin Media One
