A 39-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Christopher “Chrissy” Burns in Co Armagh.

Mr Burns, 40, was originally from the Warrenpoint area in Co Down.

His body was found in the Cusher Green area of Mountnorris on Thursday morning with serious head and facial injuries.

A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday and remained in custody.

On Saturday, police said they had been granted an additional 36 hours by a court to question the arrested man.

The 39-year-old man is due to appear before Newry Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

“As is usual procedure, the charge will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service,” the PSNI said.
