Limerick lotto player wins over €1m in raffle

Someone in Limerick is waking up €1 million richer after they won in Saturday night’s Lotto Plus Raffle event.

The winning ticket, worth an incredible €1,000,500, was purchased on the day of the draw at Centra, Moore Street, Cappamore, Co. Limerick.

The Lotto Plus Raffle usually sees between 60 and 120 winners of €500 in each draw.

However, Saturday night’s draw included a special event: every ticket with the winning raffle number was entered into a once-off random draw, where one ticket was selected to win an additional €1,000,000.

While all 81 ticketholders with the winning number received the standard €500 prize, one fortunate Limerick player walked away with a life-changing total of €1,000,500.

The winning raffle number was: 3184

Speaking on the win, Store Owner, Mark Lenihan, said: “We’re absolutely delighted – this is huge for us, for the team, and for Cappamore! It’s our first ever big National Lottery win, and to think that a life-changing ticket was sold right here in our store, is just incredible. Massive congratulations to the winner – we’re thrilled for you and wish you all the very best!”

It wasn’t the only big Lotto win of the night as a Dublin player bagged themselves the Match Five + Bonus prize worth €404,840. Their winning ticket was on Thursday, 4th September from Spar, 13 South Circular Road, Dublin 8.

Both winners are advised to sign the back of their tickets and to keep them safe. They should make contact with our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made to collect their life-changing prizes in Lottery HQ.
