Man (70s) dies after getting into difficulty in water in Co Dublin

A man has died after getting into difficulty in the water at Skerries, Co Dublin, on Saturday morning.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene at 10 am.

The man was removed from the water. He was later pronounced deceased at the scene.

His body is being removed to Dublin City Morgue, where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

A file will be prepared for the coroner.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
