A man in his 40s has been arrested by gardaí after revenue officers seized approximately 2kg of suspected cocaine with an estimated value of €140,000 in Blackrock, Co Dublin, on Tuesday.

The seizure was made as part of joint operations conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), Dublin Metropolitan Region (DMR) East Divisional Drug Unit, and Revenue Customs Service.

The man is currently detained at a Garda Station in the Dublin area pursuant to Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

The drugs seized are now subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.

Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.
