A man in his 40s has been seriously injured in a road traffic collision between a truck and a bicycle in Kilmainham, Dublin 8.

The collision occurred at Con Colbert Road shortly after 11am.

The cyclist was brought to St James's Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

No other injuries were reported at the time.

The road was closed but has since reopened.

Investigations are ongoing, a garda statement said, and gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash cam, and were travelling in the area of Con Colbert Road, Kilmainham, Dublin 8, between 10.15am and 11.15am on Wednesday, August 27th, have been asked to make their footage available to investigating gardaí.
