A man has been injured in a shooting near a shopping centre in Dublin.

The incident took place at around 4.40pm on Tuesday near the Corduff Shopping Centre at Blackcourt Avenue.

A man in his 40s was injured in the shooting incident and taken from the scene to be treated for injuries that are not life threatening.

The scene has been preserved and a technical examination is under way.

No arrests have been made and inquiries are ongoing.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Anyone who may have camera footage, including dashcam, and was travelling in the area between 4.20pm and 5.20pm is asked to make this footage available to investigating gardai.
