Government misses half of deadlines for large infrastructure projects

Over half of the government’s large-scale infrastructure projects have missed their deadlines, with many still not delivered.

This is according to new analysis from the Irish Fiscal Advisory Council in the Business Post.

The report reviewed 129 projects under the €165 billion National Development plan and found serious delays, blaming long-standing issues in construction capacity and planning.

The findings come as the government rolls out a new €200 billion infrastructure plan, with major funding for water, energy, and transport projects.
