This is the happy-go-lucky Dungloe boy whose tragic passing has sent a shockwave of sadness across Donegal this weekend.

Joey Forker died following a tragic accident at his home at Meenmore, Dungloe, on Friday evening.

The 9-year-old was a pupil at St Crone's National School in the town.

He was the middle child of popular local couple, Joe and Audrey Forker who doted on their three little boys.

Friends and family said Joey loved all types of machinery and was always there helping out his dad.

On Saturday, family and friends comforted the couple and Joey's two brothers following Friday evening's awful tragedy.

Hundreds of messages of support flooded in on social media for the heartbroken family.

Many of the messages remember little Joey and how he touched their lives during his short life.

Family friend and local Deputy Pat the Cope Gallagher asked people to think of the Forker family in the difficult days ahead.

He said "I humbly ask that in the days ahead that our prayers and all our moral support are guided towards helping the family of the deceased at this devastating time."
