A man has been charged after a laser beam was directed at a police helicopter in Co Armagh.

Police said the 20-year-old man was charged with shining or directing a laser beam towards a vehicle, endangering the safety of a vehicle, and shining a light to dazzle or distract a pilot.

It came after a laser beam was reported to have been directed at a police helicopter in the Victoria Street area of Lurgan at around 11.15pm on Monday.

The man is to appear before Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on September 12th.
