501 people are being treated on trolleys in Irish hospitals on Tuesday, according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO).

331 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 170 are in wards elsewhere in hospitals.

The hospital with the highest number of people without a bed is University Hospital Limerick with 111 patients on trolleys.

38 people are in the emergency department, with 73 people elsewhere in the hospital.

50 people are without a bed at University Hospital Galway, with 36 patients in the emergency department.

At Sligo University Hospital, there are 45 people without a bed, with 24 patients in the emergency department.
