A man in his 30s died after a single-vehicle road traffic collision in Tullamore, Co Offaly, on Monday night.

The collision occurred at Ballina Cross, Annaharvey, shortly before midnight on Monday, August 4th, 2025.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was fatally injured. No other injuries were reported.

The man's body was removed to the mortuary in the Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore, for a post-mortem examination to take place.

The R420 between Geashill and Cloncollig Roundabout, Tullamore, remains closed for a technical examination to be carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the collision to come forward, and anyone who may have camera footage, including dashcam, and was travelling in the area between around 11.40pm and midnight, has been asked to make their footage available to investigating gardaí.

Meanwhile, a 19-year-old male cyclist who was injured in a collision on Sunday night, July 27th, on the R113, Fonthill Road South, Clondalkin, Dublin 22, has also died.

The cyclist was struck by a car shortly after 11.40pm and was brought to Beaumont Hospital, where he died on August 4th.

The coroner has been notified, and a post-mortem examination is to be carried out.

Investigating gardaí have renewed their appeal for witnesses to come forward, including anyone with relevant camera footage.
