A man (20s) has died in a single-vehicle motorcycle collision in Co Waterford on Wednesday night.

The collision occurred near Bunmahon, on the R675 at Ballinahilla, Co Waterford, at around 11.45pm

The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was removed to the morgue at University Hospital Waterford, where a post-mortem examination is due to take place.

The road remained closed on Thursday morning to facilitate a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.

Anyone who may have camera footage, including dash cam, and was travelling in the area between 11pm and 12am midnight has been asked to make their footage available to investigating gardaí.
