The cyclist, a man in his late teens, is in Beaumont Hospital in a critical condition.

A cyclist has been seriously injured after being hit by a car in Dublin.

It happed shortly after 11:40pm last night on the Fonthill Road South in Clondalkin.

The cyclist, a man in his late teens, is in Beaumont Hospital in a critical condition.

The road remains closed this morning for a technical examination, with diversions in place between Cherrywood Avenue and St. John's Road.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact gardaí.
