A quad driver has been arrested after being found to be high on a cocktail of drugs with two small children as passengers in Co Donegal on Wednesday evening.

The incident happened in the Letterkenny area in a public place.

The driver was spotted driving the quad dangerously and was stopped by gardaí from the Milford Roads Policing Unit.

The driver of the vehicle was also not wearing a helmet.

He was tested at the scene and found to be positive for a range of drugs, including cannabis, cocaine, and opiates.

The adult male driver of the quad was arrested at the scene.

A spokesperson for gardaí said: "Sometimes, words do really fail us."

The spokesperson added that court proceedings will follow against the driver of the quad.
