A man and a woman are injured following a hit-and-run collision involving two vehicles in Shannon, Co. Clare, on Monday morning.

The incident happened on the N18 road at 7 am.

The driver and passenger of one of the vehicles, a man in his 20s and a woman in her 20s, were conveyed to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life threatening at this time.

The occupants of the other vehicle failed to remain at scene.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
