A man driving an e-scooter has been seriously injured following a single-vehicle collision in Youghal, Co. Cork.

The incident happened at approximately 4:30 pm on Barrack Road, Magniers Hill.

The driver, a man in his 20s, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Cork University Hospital for treatment.

The road is currently closed for a technical examination, with local diversions in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward. Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were in the area at the time are asked to make it available to gardaí.
