A total of 419 admitted patients are on trolleys in hospitals across Ireland on Thursday.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) says University Hospital Limerick accounts for the largest number of those with 103, followed by University Hospital Galway with 52, and Letterkenny University Hospital with 31.

Of the total number of people waiting for beds, 282 are in emergency departments while 137 are in wards.
