A man aged in his 60s has died after a tractor crash in Co Clare on Saturday morning.

The collision, involving a pedestrian and a tractor, took place on the L7006 at Kilmurry, Sixmilebridge shortly after 10.15am.

The man aged in his 60s, a pedestrian, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been taken to University Hospital Limerick, where a post-mortem examination is due to take place.

The road was closed pending a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
