Weather: Met Éireann predicts warm week ahead with temperatures set to reach 24 degrees

Met Éireann predicts temperatures could be as high as 24 degrees this week, with sunny weather set to hit Ireland.

Monday will be dry in Leinster and Munster with spells of hazy sunshine.

Cloudy in parts of Connacht and Ulster, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle moving into the northwest this evening. The highest temperatures are 17 to 23 degrees.

Tuesday will be largely dry and sunny across the country by evening time, with highest temperatures of 16 to 21 or 22 degrees.

On Wednesday, it will be cloudier at times across north Connacht and Ulster with a few patches of rain or drizzle possible.

Temperatures will be between 16 to 22 degrees, coolest in the north and warmest in the south.

Thursday will see temperatures increase, with possible highs of 24 degrees. Met Éireann says it will be a dry and warm day across the country with lots of summer sunshine.

However, Thursday night could see a few showers develop in the southwest overnight, with temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees.

Friday will also be warm and humid, with the highest temperatures of 20 to 24 degrees, where it will be likely warmest in Connacht and west Ulster.

The weekend will stay warm and humid with sunny spells, but a few heavy showers may develop in some areas.
