The June bank holiday weekend will see a mix of sunshine and showers, with the current trend of unsettled weather set to continue.

The rain will clear during the afternoon with sunshine and showers following for the rest of the day, some heavy in the northwest.

However, Met Éireann warned it will become very windy later in the day near Atlantic coasts, with strong to gale force and gusty southwest winds developing in the evening and continuing for a time on Saturday night along with further showers.

Sunday is set to be breezy with a mix of sunshine and showers.

It wil be cooler with highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees and moderate to fresh and gusty westerly winds.
