The murder of Michael Gaine and rising rents make the front pages of Monday's papers.

The Irish Times leads with the average rent now exceeding €2,000 for the first time, according to the Daft.ie quarterly rental report.

The Irish Examiner leads with a man arrested in connection with the murder of Kerry farmer Michael Gaine, following the discovery of human remains over the weekend.

The Echo leads with Cork City Council defending the removal of "robot trees" over the weekend.

The Irish Independent leads with mortgage increases of €150,000 in the last decade as house prices increase.

The Irish Daily Mail leads with a man arrested over the murder of Mr Gaine. Their front page also has former US President Joe Biden diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Both the Irish Daily Mirror and the Irish Daily Star lead with a man arrested over the death of Mr Gaine in Co Kerry.
