Three cyclists injured in Cork hit-and-run

Three people have been injured in a hit-and-run incident in Co Cork.

Gardaí responded just after 8pm on Wednesday night on the R627 near Westpark, in Midleton.

The incident involved a car and three bicycles.

The car failed to remain at the scene.

Three cyclists received medical treatment for injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

A technical examination of the scene was conducted and the road has since reopened.

A man in his 30s was later arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of an intoxicant.

He has since been released without charge pending further investigation.
