Cannabis worth €1.8m seized in Co Louth in joint Garda and Revenue operation

Herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €1.8 million has been recovered in Co Louth.

A man in his 50s was arrested and is currently detained at a Garda Station in the county.

Revenue officers seized approximately 90 kgs of herbal cannabis in a joint operation with the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and Louth Divisional Drugs Unit.

Describing it as an intelligence-led operation, a Garda statement said the seizure is part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations into the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.

It said investigations are ongoing.
