Gardaí have arrested and charged a man after €720,000 of cannabis was seized at Dublin Port on Saturday.

A truck was searched as part of an operation by Revenue and Dublin Metropolitan Region (DMR) North Central Divisional Drugs Unit.

During the search, approximately 36 kg of suspected herbal cannabis was seized, with an estimated street value of €720,000.

A man in his 20s was arrested and is detained at a Garda Station in the Dublin area.

He has since been charged and will appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice on Monday morning.

Gardai say investigations are ongoing.
