A man has been arrested after a car hijacking and two robbery incidents in Dublin and Wicklow on Saturday.

Gardaí attended the scene following a report of a carjacking at a commercial premises on St. Peter’s Road, Walkinstown, Dublin 12 on Saturday evening.

At approximately 7.45 pm, a male approached a black Nissan Quasquai and threatened the female driver of the car, who exited the vehicle.

The man then took control of the vehicle and drove off.

Later that evening, gardaí responded to reports of a robbery at a commercial premises on the Dublin Road, Bray, Co. Dublin, that occurred at approximately 8.15 pm.

A man entered the store brandishing an implement and threatened staff. A quantity of alcohol was taken.

Shortly after 8.45 pm, gardaí responded to reports of a separate robbery at a commercial premises in Rathnew, Co. Wicklow.

A man entered the store and threatened staff with an implement. A sum of cash was taken.

Gardaí believed that the vehicle used during the two robberies was the black Nissan Quasquai that had been stolen earlier.

A man, aged in his 40s, was arrested this morning, Sunday 27th April 2025, in connection with the investigation, and detained in a Garda Station in the Dublin area.

He has since been charged and is expected to appear before Tallaght District Court on Monday morning.

An Garda Síochána is appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.

Anyone who was travelling on the St. Peter’s Road area of Walkinstown, Dublin 12, on Saturday 26th April 2025 between 7.30 pm and 8 pm is asked to contact investigating Gardaí.

Gardaí are particularly interested in the movements of a 141-MH registration black Nissan Quasquai travelling in the areas of Walkinstown, Dublin 12; Bray, Co. Dublin; and Rathnew, Co. Wicklow between 7.30 pm and 9.30 pm on the evening of Saturday evening.

Additionally, road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
