A woman in her 50s has died after a two-vehicle collision in Glenmore, Co. Kilkenny, on Friday morning.

The incident happened on the main N25 road near Gaulstown.

The collision involved a truck and a car. The driver of the car, a female in her 50s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Her body was removed from the scene to the mortuary, where a post-mortem examination is due to take place.

The N25 road remains closed at this time. A technical examination is being conducted by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators at present.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to please contact them.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N25 New Ross to Waterford road near Gaulstown at around 10.30am are asked to make this available to investigating gardaí.
