A motorcyclist has been seriously injured following a collision with a car at Mullaghvorneen, Co. Longford, on Monday.

The incident happened at approximately 6 pm on the L1127 road.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was airlifted from the scene with serious injuries to the Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore and later transferred to the Mater Hospital in Dublin.

A technical examination of the scene was conducted by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the L1127 between the GAA club and Ballymacormack Cemetery between 5.30 pm and 6 pm on 21st April are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
