A male in his late teens died in a single-vehicle road traffic collision in Co Leitrim on Tuesday.

The crash occurred on R204 at Aghavilla, Carrigallen, Co Leitrim, at around 3.10pm.

A male passenger of the tractor was pronounced dead at the scene, while the male driver of the tractor, also in his late teens, was brought to Cavan General Hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

The road remains closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to the incident to come forward, and any road users who may have camera footage, including dash cam, and were travelling in the area between 2.30pm and 3.30pm are asked to make their footage available to investigating gardaí.
