Tuesday's front pages focus on a range of stories from a briefing revealing the EU will have to choose between the US or China on trade to plans for a Cork Luas being "accelerated".

The Irish Times reports the United States will seek to force the EU to choose between the US and China on trade, according to briefings circulated to senior ministers and officials after Tánaiste Simon Harris’s meeting in Washington last week with US commerce secretary Howard Lutnick.

The Irish Examiner and The Echo focus on the Taoiseach saying the State will do whatever it can to accelerate delivery of the multi-billion euro Cork Luas amid mounting calls for an end-of-decade start date.

Meanwhile, in the UK, papers focus on unions threatening strike action across the country.
